There are few things more exciting for a musician than finding new music to play.

Sometimes shopping online is more convenient than going to a music store, but it can be hard to know where to start looking.

Here are my five favorite websites to buy sheet music online.

1. J.W. Pepper

J.W. Pepper is often known for their brick-and-mortar stores, but they also have a great website .

You can search by category for choral, band, orchestra, or sacred music; you can also search by instrument.

The site has audio recordings and preview pages for most of their selections. They also have a My Library feature that allows you to download your music on the device of your choice, where it can be marked up and organized into playlists.

They offer a money-back guarantee.

2. Amazon

Okay, you knew this one would be on here.

Amazon is many people’s go-to for online shopping, and for good reason. They have large selections of pretty much everything, and sheet music is no exception.

You can search for something specific or filter by book series, publisher, composer, positive reviews, etc.

Some of the music is available in a Kindle version, and if you’re a member of Amazon Prime you can get fast shipping for free.

3. Sheet Music Plus

This is my personal favorite place to buy music online. Advertising as the “World’s Largest Collection of Sheet Music”, they have over a million products to choose from.

They often have sales, and there are preview pages, audio recordings, and video performance recordings for a lot of their music.

They also have a digital library and a handy rebate program for choir directors, music teachers and college music students.

4. Musicnotes

Musicnotes has an interactive website that is easy to navigate. They sell arrangements of songs from all genres.

Their most popular and newest arrangements appear on their home page, and they allow you to search by instrument, genre, or decade.

You also get to see a preview of the entire song, not just certain pages, so you have a better idea of what you’re getting into before you buy it.

5. Sheet Music Now

Sheet Music Now’s website advertises as the “The #1 Source for Printable, Digital Sheet Music Online”.

All of their music is for sale as a digital download, so you don’t have to wait for it to be shipped.

You can search by collections, instruments, or genres, and they also have some free scores available. They also offer a free download for software to transpose your purchased music to a different key.

Important Note: This post does not contain affiliate links. I am not associated with any of the following companies, and I do not receive any sort of compensation from them if you purchase something by following the links in this post. I just use these sites a lot and wanted to pass along the information!
